Quality Over Profit: A Promise Kept to Our Gurgaon Customer at Nearby Pets India
It started as a routine order this past Thursday when a customer from Gurgaon placed a request for a Cockatiel on the Nearby Pets India platform. Our team immediately set the logistics in motion to ensure a timely weekend delivery. However, the true test of our commitment to animal welfare happened just moments before dispatch. As our on-ground team prepared the selected bird, our lead Animal Specialist stepped in for the final mandatory health inspection. Upon close observation, he noticed something wasn't right and immediately halted the packing process.

The message from our specialist was urgent and clear: "Sir aap ye pc mat lejiye isko maine achi check kiya loose motion ho rkha hai" (Sir, do not take this piece; I have checked it thoroughly and it is suffering from loose motion). For us, shipping a bird that is even 1% unwell is never an option. We immediately cancelled the dispatch of that specific bird, prioritizing ethics over convenience. But we knew the customer was waiting.
Our team shifted into high gear, working fast to locate a healthy, active alternative of the same breed within our network. We found a beautiful, energetic Lutino Cockatiel that passed every health check with flying colors. We immediately contacted the customer, explaining the situation with complete transparency. Rather than being annoyed by the delay, the customer was convinced by our honesty and appreciated that we saved them from receiving a sick pet.
With the new bird approved, we carefully packed it in a secure, ventilated travel box with custom air holes to ensure stress-free breathing during transit. The logistics team rushed to make up for lost time, ensuring the package hit the express route. Today, on Saturday, the package arrived in Gurgaon. The result was a successful delivery of a vibrant, healthy Cockatiel—seen happily perching and flapping its wings with energy—proving that at Nearby Pets India, we don't just deliver pets; we deliver promises of health and happiness.
