About the role
Nearby Pets India is looking for an SEO Intern to help grow our organic search presence in the pet care space. You'll work alongside the marketing team on keyword research, on-page optimization, content briefs, and performance reporting — getting hands-on with the tools and workflows that drive real search traffic. This is a remote internship suited to someone early in their career who is curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn how search actually works.
What you will do
- Conduct keyword research and help build topic clusters for content planning
- Optimize on-page elements including titles, meta descriptions, headings, and internal links
- Run technical SEO audits and flag issues like broken links, crawl errors, and slow pages
- Write and edit content briefs for writers based on search intent
- Track rankings, organic traffic, and engagement using Google Search Console and Google Analytics
- Research competitor sites to identify content gaps and backlink opportunities
- Prepare weekly and monthly SEO performance reports for the marketing team
- Stay current with search algorithm updates and share relevant findings with the team
What we are looking for
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field
- Solid written English and the ability to structure content clearly
- Basic understanding of how search engines rank and index pages
- Familiarity with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, or willingness to learn them quickly
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets to organize keyword and performance data
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow through on repetitive research tasks
- Self-directed and able to communicate progress clearly in a remote setup
- Prior coursework, personal blog, or internship involving SEO is a plus but not required
