Kharar, Punjab, India — Nearby Pets India today announced the introduction of regional facilitation centres across four cities: Kalyan in Maharashtra, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Nagarbhavi in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and Hyderabad in Telangana.
Each centre is a combined pickup point, supervised resting point and delivery hub — a physical location where a pet can break a long journey under supervision, where local families can collect an ordered pet in person, and from which the final leg of a delivery is dispatched.
The centres extend a network that has until now operated primarily as point-to-point transport. The company said the change is intended to reduce the total time any animal spends continuously in transit.
What a facilitation centre does
Each location performs three distinct functions:
- Pickup point. Customers who prefer to collect in person, meet the animal before completing a purchase, or avoid a last-mile handover at their door can do so at a fixed, staffed address.
- Resting point. Animals travelling longer routes stop at the centre rather than continuing straight through. Stops are used for water, feeding, litter and cage cleaning, and a period out of the carrier before the journey resumes.
- Delivery hub. The final leg is dispatched locally rather than run end-to-end from the origin city, which shortens the last stretch of the journey and gives regional staff a checkpoint to assess the animal before it goes out.
The four locations
Kalyan, Maharashtra. Serving the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, including Thane district and the wider Mumbai corridor. Local operations run through mumbaipets.in.
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Serving central India, and the base from which the company's Madhya Pradesh operations already run. Local operations run through bhopalpets.in.
Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Serving western Bengaluru and the surrounding Karnataka belt. Local operations run through bengalurupets.in.
Hyderabad, Telangana. Serving Telangana and adjoining districts. A dedicated Hyderabad website is currently in development; until it launches, Hyderabad enquiries are handled through Nearby Pets India directly.
Why resting points matter
Long-distance transport is the part of the process where animals are most exposed to stress, dehydration and heat. In May 2026 the company suspended all pet transport between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM IST during the summer months for that reason.
Fixed resting points are the operational counterpart to that policy. A scheduled stop gives staff a defined moment to check on an animal, provide water and food, clean the carrier, and decide whether the journey should continue on schedule or pause — a decision that is difficult to make well on the roadside.
Nearby Pets India said the centres are being introduced as part of its stated position that animal welfare takes precedence over delivery speed, and that a journey broken into supervised stages is preferable to a faster continuous one.
Regional websites
Three of the four cities are already served by dedicated regional websites, each carrying local availability, local pricing and a local contact number:
- mumbaipets.in — Mumbai and the surrounding region, now supported by the Kalyan centre.
- bhopalpets.in — Bhopal and central Madhya Pradesh.
- bengalurupets.in — Bengaluru and Karnataka, operating from Nagarbhavi.
The Hyderabad website is in the build process and has not yet launched. The company said it will be announced separately once live. Customers in Telangana can order in the meantime through the main Nearby Pets India site, which delivers nationwide.
Availability
The facilitation centres support pets ordered through Nearby Pets India and its regional brands. Customers who wish to use a centre as a collection point rather than receive a home delivery should indicate this when placing an order or when contacting the team, as routing is arranged per order.
